Chiefs of government media need to take permissions for travel

Kathmandu, March 16: The Ministry of Information and Communications has decided that the chiefs of its subordinate bodies now need to take permission prior to going for visit within and outside the country.

The Ministry passed a working procedure to make it mandatory for them to take permission from the Minister of Information and Communications for foreign visit and from the Communications Secretary for visit out of the Kathmandu Valley.

Minister Sherdhan Rai approved the work procedure on Tuesday.

The Ministry took such decision to discourage the misuse of office vehicles, and check unnecessary visits of the chiefs of government media.

Ministry Secretary Dinesh Thapaliya said with this provision, the chiefs need to submit report of the visit mentioning the rationale for the same. RSS
