Demand to take action against guilty

Kathmandu, March 30: Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ) has voiced its concern over the incident of threat issued to Sunsari Chapter Chairperson of Federation of Nepal Indigenous Nationalities Journalists (FONIJ), Janak Rishi Rai.

Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the umbrella organization of the journalists strongly condemned the threat against Rai in regard to the news published in the Purnanka Weekly entitled 'Citizenship of god as well'.

Noting that the followers of 'God Angel' threatened journalist Rai taking up the issue of news content published in the newspaper, the FNJ has demanded the government to book the guilty and take necessary legal actions.

The FNJ in its statement said it was a deplorable act to issue threat to a journalist rather than going for legal recourse to challenge the news contest if found unsatisfactory. RSS
