Documentary on Lipulekh staged

Kathmandu, March 19: A documentary on Lipulekh was staged here in the Capital today.

Lipulekh is a Nepali territory adjacent to China border where India and China are said to be planning to build a trade passage.

The 57-minute documentary entitled ‘Lipulekh visit’ features problems and predicaments faced by students from All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) while marching to the Nepal-India border in Darchula to inspect Lipulekh from August 7-18.

The team including more than 100 set off to Darchula from Kathmandu on August 7 and reached there on August 11.

Thereafter an 18-member team led by Chairman of the ANNISU-R Ratna Dhakal reached Lipulekh on August 18 and hoisted the national flag there.

Meanwhile, talking to media persons, ANNISU-R General Secretary Uttam Adhikari said that the issue of Lipulekh should be taken up with the Chinese government during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming China visit.

CPN-Revolutionary Maoist leaders Ram Bahadur Thapa, CP Gajurel and party spokesperson Pampha Bhusal and border expert Buddhi Narayan Shrestha among others watched the documentary. RSS
