Five held for misappropriating diesel

Banepa, March 21: Police have today arrested five persons along with a tanker on the charge of their involvement in misappropriation of diesel from Kavrepalanchowk.

Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Bidur Kumar Thapa, said that police arrested three people along with the tanker (Na 4 Kha 2555) when they were returning after emptying the fuel at Panauti-based Pashupati Plywood Factory.

They had actually brought the diesel from Raxual for the Bhaktapur-based Maheshwori Petrol Pump.

Similarly, two people were arrested in this connection from Banepa, added Thapa.

The arrested are Santosh Shrestha of Jalbire of Sindhupalchowk, Raj Kumar Shrestha of Suryabinayek of Bhaktapur, tanker driver Surya Lama, helper Krishnahari Lama and Raj Kumar Koirala of of Manahari of Hetauda.

As per the preliminary investigation of Police, they had sold the diesel on high price to the plywood factory.

Case under the Black-Marketing (Prevention and Control) Act would be filed against them, said Superintendent of police, Rajeshnath Bastola. The seized diesel has been kept at Area Police office, Banepa. RSS
