Greater Nepal submits memo to Vice-President

Kathmandu, March 13: Greater Nepal Nationalist Front has submitted a memorandum to Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun demanding correction in the decision to deploy Nepali nationals serving Indian regiment for the security of Brunei.

In the memorandum handed over to the Vice President at his residence at Bahadur Bhawan this afternoon, the Front demanded amendment to the decision on the proposal of Indian Vice President Mohammad Hasid Ansari to depute Nepali youths regimented in the Indian Army in defense of Brunei.

A team headed by Front Chair Fadindra Nepal drew the attention of Vice President Pun to remind Nepal government's responsibility to protect the rights and dignity of Nepali youths in army force in foreign nations on the occasion of the 200 years of the signing of Sugauli Treaty.

Receiving the memo, Vice President Pun said the government of Nepal has taken the issue seriously and that it should be settled through diplomatic channel. "I have taken the memorandum seriously and will draw the attention of concerned government's agency to that end", Pun noted. RSS
