Taplejung, March 29: Winter crops in dozens of the VDCs in the district have been wiped out by a hail storm.
The storm brought strong winds and hail and rainfall and caused huge damages. The crops planted at Khewang, Suramkhim, Limbudin, Ankhop, Sikaicha, Tellok, Chakisbote, Ambegudin and district headquarters Phungling areas have been damaged.
Farmers in the areas are still assessing the damage and reeling under the pain as their crops were wiped out just before the harvesting period. RSS
