CAPE TOWN, March 18 :(Xinhua) -- The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Friday.
-- Allegations that members of the influential Gupta family have attempted to interfere with government deployments are on the agenda of the ANC's national executive committee meeting this weekend.
ANC head of policy Jeff Radebe told journalists at an ANC breakfast briefing in Johannesburg that the ANC's top six leaders met the family "about two weeks ago".  (Mail & Guardian). --As a political storm raged on Thursday over the Gupta family's influence over Cabinet appointments, President Jacob Zuma remained defiant. His flat refusal to address the bombshell by Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas that the Guptas had offered him the job of finance minister, indicated a lack of contrition ahead of a crucial national executive committee meeting this weekend. -- Public Service and Administration Minister Ngoako Ramatlhodi says he will deal with details of his invitation by the politically connected Gupta family within the ANC structures.Ramatlhodi, who was currently on a work visit to France, told City Press he preferred the matter be dealt with away from the media spotlight.
