Mentally ill Bhujel receives support from South Korea

Charikot, March 17: More support has poured in for Shyam Bahadur Bhujel of Jugu VDC – 5, who is suffering from chronic mental disorder.

The National News Agency (RSS) had carried a news story on Bhujel accounting his imprisonment in an iron cage for 15 months due to financial constraints.

Following the publication of the news story, Dipendra Adhikari of the Dolkhali Samaj based in South Korea took the initiative to raise Rs 70,700.

RSS Chairman, Kul Chandra Wagle, handed over the amount to Bhujel's mother amidst a programme today.

Bhujel is currently receiving treatment at Kosish Nepal in the capital city. Bhujel had earlier received a support of Rs 50,000 from Amit Rijal, who currently lives in Australia.

Speaking at the donation programme and an interaction on Mofussil Journalism and Challenges, RSS Chair Wagle spoke of the contribution journalism made on people's welfare.

At the programme, Chief District Officer, Pushpa Raj Shahi, and Local Development Officer, Bishnu Prasad Sharma, gave their statements. RSS
