NAC flight grounded following bomb scare

Kathmandu, March 17: The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) RA206 flight from New Delhi to Kathmandu has been grounded following rumours of a bomb inside the aircraft.

An unidentified person has reportedly tipped off the Indian security authorities of a bomb being planted inside the plane triggering an emergency checking, which is still continuing, said Devananda Upadhyaya, General Manager at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) while speaking to the National News Agency (RSS).

"The aircraft is under a security check following a rumour that a bomb has been planted inside," Upadhaya said adding, "Nothing has been found yet as per the rumour."

The aircraft was scheduled to take off from the Indira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi, India at 12:30 pm for Kathmandu. The Indian security authorities took the plane under control following the tip off. RSS
