NEJA announces application open for award nominees

Kathmandu, March 11: Nepal American Journalists Association (NEJA) - an organization of Nepali journalists in the US - today announced applications for nomination in the biannual 'NEJA Rural Best Journalism Award'.

The award conferred on journalists making vital contribution towards reforming the socio-economic and cultural sectors of remote parts of Nepal carries a purse of Rs 111,111.11. The aspiring journalists must be based in rural parts of Nepal and may be writing in any language native to Nepal that is being used in the rural part for at least two years.

The application submission deadline is on March 31 and it may be submitted to the Best Journalism Award Selection Committee, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Media Village Central Office in Kathmandu or can be emailed at fnjnepal@mail.com.np.

The three-member Selection Committee is headed by FNJ President, Dr Mahendra Bista and comprises National News Agency (RSS) General Manager, Nirmala Acharya, and NEJA former President, Pratap Adhikari.

The Committee will select three journalists or media houses on basis of application, said NEJA President, Gautam Dahal. RSS
