Regional media interaction on health issues

Nepalgunj, March 28: A regional-level media interaction organized by the Department of Health Services and National Health Education, Information and Communications centre Kathmandu concluded here Sunday.

Chief and representatives of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) from 15 districts in the mid-western region took part in the day-long interaction on family planning, safe motherhood and the newborn.

At the programme, Regional Health Director Bhogendra Dotel said the issue of uterine prolapse raised by media sector has experienced policy-level changes. He pointed out the need of seriousness on part of the media in a sensitive sector like health, lack of which has given rise to illusion among the people.

Regional Training Chief Hemant Sharma expressed the confidence that the interaction would help improve relations between the media and health sector.

On behalf of the participants, President of FNJ Surkhet Ganesh Kanchan Bharati pointed out that implementation aspect should be prioritized in order to make the public health services effective. RSS
