SLC exam begins across the country

Kathmandu, March 31: As many as 615,000 students have appeared in this year's School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination, leaving behind the painful memories of earthquake and unofficial blockade.

The SLC exam that began from 8.00 this morning in all examination centres across the country is being conducted in a peaceful manner. The examination will conclude at 12.00 noon.

Total 615,553 students had submitted their applications for this year's SLC. Among them, 452,881 students are under regular category while 159,417 are exempted. The letter grade system has been enforced in SLC from this year.

Likewise, 3,255 students are appearing in the exam under technical category.

Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokharel has reached some exam centres this morning for monitoring. He visited the exam centres at Shanti Bidhya Griha, Lainchaur and Mahendra Secondary School, Baluwatar. The examination is conducted in a disciplined manner in the centres, informed Minister Pokharel's chief personal secretary Jagrit Rayamajhi. RSS
