Butwal, March 20: A person was killed after a truck rammed a motorbike at the Milan Chowk of Butwal this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Hari Thapa, 40, of Belbhariya in Butwal Sub-metropolis, according to Area Police Office, Butwal.
The truck (Lu 1 Kha 5850) rammed the motorbike (Lu 22 Pa 1986) killing Thapa on the spot, police said. The police have impounded the truck and taken the truck driver into custody for further investigation.
Policeman dies
Meanwhile, a policeman died and his wife was injured when an oil tanker rammed a motorbike at the Bhramhachowk at Birgunj bypass today.
The loaded oil tanker (Na 2 Kha 5325) en route to Amalekhgunj from Raxaul in India hit the motorbike (Na 9 Pa 1489) in the rear killing police constable, Laxman Prasad Yadav, of Partewa Sugauli Police Station in Parsa. The police constable died on the spot.
The police constable was returning after treatment of his wife when the accident occurred at 2:15 pm, District Police Office, Parsa said. The policeman's wife, Laxmi Devi, has sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Narayan Sub Regional Hospital in Birgunj. RSS
