Khotang, April 4: Crusher industries are found operating on the Diktel-Halesi section of the Mid-hill highway without obtaining permission.
These crusher plants are set up at Mudey, Nangi and Kaduwa on that section of the highway. Blacktopping works of the section of the highway has started with the Asian Development Bank (ADB)'s financial assistance.
Ram Bahadur Tamang, a representative of the road construction company, said that the crusher industries are set up temporarily for the purpose of black-topping the road. He clarified that the crusher plants are run temporarily and therefore the district authorities have not been informed of the same.
The law requires that permission has to be taken from the District Development Committee for the operation of crusher plants at any location.
"So far we have not received any formal application for operation of crusher industry. The permission of the local administration is required to operate crusher plants," the Local Development Officer, Nischal Raj Pandey said. He said he has written to the district administration for legal action against the crusher industries operating illegally. RSS
