One more swept away by Mai River in Jhapa

Surunga ( Jhapa), July 27: One more person was swept away by the flooded Mai River in Jhapa. With this, the number of people went missing in the river has reached three.

One Bijay Basent of Shiba Satakshi-9 who entered the river to collect fire woods  brought by it went missing in the river. Police have intensified search for him, as said by Jhapa District Police Office's Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Prasad Sharma.

So far 6 people have lost their lives to the incidents of flooding in the district.  The local police administration has called on the people to take all possible safety measures and not to go near the swollen river. RSS
