Country's development possible from skilled and hardworking youth alone: PM Oli

Kathmandu, March 16: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli says a country's development and prosperity is realised to the extent the citizens of that country are physically and mentally organised, strong and active.

Addressing the 50th anniversary function of the National Cadet Corps and the passing-out parade of the NCC's Senior Division 11th group at the Army Headquarters today, PM Oli commended the NCC's contribution to enhancing the morale and capacity of the country's youth.

The country's development and prosperity is possible only from the youth who are capable, hard working, skilled, honest, active and highly committed , he said, adding that the NCC graduates should win the people's heart with a sense of service to the nation, solidarity, expressed dedication and in a disciplined manner.

Directing the NCC graduates to present themselves as examples in terms of the works, behaviour, words, service, honesty, discipline and patriotism, he said the NCC campaign is not only a practice it is something that contributes to boosting the morale in producing and training skilled human resources  for the country.

Chief advisor of the NCC, Honorary Major General Dr Ramindra Chhetri said the NCC training is conducted prioritising on the campaign of making the youth disciplined, civilised, cultured, full of leadership qualities, with a sense of unity, loyal and patriots.

Some 2000 youths from 37 districts are to be imparted NCC training this Fiscal Year, it was shared at the programme.

NCC has been conducting training targeting especially high school and higher secondary school students.

Three hundred and seventy-seven students were awarded graduation in the convocation ceremony today.

Defence Minister Bhim Bahadur Rawal and Defence Secretary Jay Mukunda Khanal also attended the passing-out ceremony. RSS
