Employees at private sectors to get pension

Kathmandu, March 10: The process to amend laws for ensuring retirement fund to the employees at private offices has reached final stage.

Chief Administrator at Employees' Provident Fund, Krishna Prasad Acharya, has said amendment of the related laws based on the technical report prepared with the assistance of the International Labour Organization was taken imperative in order to ensure social security to the employees at private sectors and those working as migrant workers.

There are more than two million Nepalis working at private sectors/offices while more than three million as migrant workers.

Mr Acharya added that it would not only add the fund in the Provident Fund but also help for the investment in the infrastructures for long term.

The Employee Provident Fund is currently providing service to half million employees of 30,000 offices. RSS
