Intl Nepali Language Symposium kicks off

Kankadbhitta (Jhapa), March 11: The International Nepali Language Sumposium kicked off here from today aiming to bring about uniformity in the usage of the Nepali language.

The symposium is jointly organised by the Nepal Academy and the Bhanu Pratisthan Kathmandu. More than 70 linguists from Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya of India, Burma including Nepal are attending the symposium.

Nepal Academy vice-chancellor Bishnu Bibhu Ghimire inaugurated the three-day symposium.

Discussions and interaction on different aspects of the Nepali language as grammar and lexicography will take place in course of the symposium. The symposium will also hold discussion on eight different working papers to be presented by linguists from Nepal and India. RSS
