Tamghas (Gulmi), March 13: A person was killed and four others injured today when a mound of earth gave way inside a tunnel in Gulmi.
Champa Pariyar, 26, of Hunga VDC – 2 died after the pile of soil fell on her, said Inspector, Shailendra Bhatta, of the District Police Office, Gulmi. In the incident, Saraswoti Ramjali, 40, Narayan Bhandari, 35 and Bhakta Bahadur Ramjali, 45, of the same locality sustained severe injuries. They were rushed to Palpa for treatment.
The victims had entered the tunnel to collect soil used to daub floors and walls of houses this morning when the mound over them suddenly caved in. Pariyar has a son and a daughter while her husband is a migrant worker in a foreign country.
In a separate incident, another person was injured while digging earth to collect soil used in daubing house. Police have identified the injured as Pushpa Pathak, 21, of Amrai – 9 of Paudi area. She is receiving treatment at a local health centre. RSS
