NKC urges all to check kidney once a year

Kathmandu, March 30: National Kidney Centre Nepal (NKC) has urged one and all to get their kidney examined once a year to avoid compulsion of surviving a feeble life due to potential kidney ailments despite huge spending.

One can be saved from kidney problems if s/he gets their urine and blood examined every year which only cost Rs 100.

Talking to RSS correspondent, NKC's Chief Public Relation Officer Bimal Neupane shared that the kidney failure is resulted only when the concerned patient does not examine his/her kidney up to its fifth phase of complication.

"Every individual should examine the level of Protein in urine and element of Creatinine in blood once a year. One can have this examination in every hospital and clinic at the cost of Rs 100", he said adding that the patients of diabetes and high blood pressure should be cautious as they are more prone to kidney failure and heart attack.

As many as 600 patients are undergoing dialysis in NKC's main building at Siddhartha Banasthali, Kathmandu while the number is 35 in Tanahun, 15 in Chitwan and 12 in Biratnagar-based units. RSS
