UML standing committee meeting postponed

Kathmandu, March 30: The CPN (UML) standing committee meeting could not make decision on nominations to the party central department and the advisors committee today also.

The 35th meeting of the standing committee which was convened at the Prime Minister's residence at Baluwatar this morning failed to take up the proposal regarding the meeting agenda.

The agenda of today's meeting was making nominations to the central department and advisory committee. The central secretariat had prepared a proposal in this regard as per the directive of the standing committee meeting on Tuesday.

The meeting could not make decision after criticism that not enough consultation was held with all sides while selecting the members to be nominated to the department.

Prime Minister and party chairman KP Oli postponed the standing committee meeting today until further notice as the meeting was likely to drag on and in view of the Prime Minister's scheduled visit to Chitwan today to attend a programme, Central Secretariat Secretary Krishna Gopal Shrestha said. RSS
