Kathmandu, July 31: More than 4,000 traders were penalized by the Nepal Standards and Metrology Regional Office, Kathmandu for using sub-standard weighing instruments.
In the fiscal year 2015/16, a total of 4,149 traders in Kathmandu were found guilty of cheating their consumers by using sub-standard weighing instruments to sell their products, according to Chief of the Office Shashi Bhusan Yadav.
Meanwhile, in the same fiscal year, 3,227 new traders gained license for using the weighing instruments while 8,378 had their instruments checked and approved, Yadav said. RSS
