Cooperatives Act to make Cooperatives sector systematic: DPM KC

Pokhara, March 10: Deputy Prime Minister Chitra Bahadur KC has said that although preparation was underway to formulate the Cooperatives Act to make the cooperatives sector systematic, some individuals associated to ruling parties are against it.

At a programme organised to unveil the policy, plan and programmes approved by the 24th District Council of Kaski district here on Thursday, DPM KC, who is also Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, said that he has working to bring the budget allocated for poverty alleviation to the concerned ministry.

Similarly, parliamentarians—Yagya Bahadur Thapa, Tej Kumari Poudel, Chudamanu Jangali, Tul Bahdur Gurung and Dil Bahadur Nepali said that all should be united for the development of the cooperatives sector.

On the occasion, officiating Local Development Officer, Narayan Prasad Shrestha, presented a budget of Rs 6.05 billion.

Journalist Ekraj Giri, Chairman of the Lachowk Ghachowk Rural Road Users’ Committee, Krishna Kumar Shrestha, tourism entrepreneur Ganesh Bahadur Bhattarai, among others were honoured on the occasion. RSS
